Thinning Chorus
「目減りする合唱（Thinning Chorus)」は、夜明けの鳥の声が土地から失われていく様子を、聴いて・見て確かめるためのサウンドアート・アプリです。
家が増え、道路が伸び、人が集まっていく。
その変化と引きかえに、土地から鳥が一羽ずつ抜けていく。
このアプリは、そうして痩せていく夜明けの合唱を、鳥類の分布記録とアルゴリズムから再構築します。
土地ごとに、夜明けの表情はずいぶん違います。
声を失った土地もあれば、別の声で賑わう土地も、ほとんど変わらない土地もある。
この静けさも、この賑わいも、少し前とは違う姿かもしれません。
その小さな合唱に、耳を澄ませてみてください。
Thinning Chorus is a sound art app for hearing—and seeing—how the dawn chorus is slipping away from the land.
As houses spread, roads stretch out, and people gather, birds leave the land one by one.
Thinning Chorus reconstructs that fading dawn chorus from bird distribution records and an algorithm, letting you listen to what a place once sounded like.
Every place wakes differently. Some have fallen silent, some ring with different voices, and some have hardly changed at all.
This quiet—and this liveliness—may already be different from what it was only a short while ago.
